So, what expenses will there be this year isA? It will be between $42-$84 for the year, depending on what uniform options you choose and whether we need to ask for a second troop dues payment (see below).
Registration
Girl Scout membership costs $25/girl/year. That money goes right to the Girl Scouts organization - we don't actually get any of it for our troops.
Troop Dues
This is money that the troop leaders can use to cover the cost of the craft supplies we use, the badges the girls earn, etc. For the first semester, we were thinking $14 per girl? If that lasts us all year, then great! Otherwise, we might ask you for another $14 in the spring isA. If the girls could please bring it with them to the first meeting, that would be perfect.
Uniforms/Pins
There are a few options here. Let us know which you want, and the troop leaders can place a group order isA.
For Daisies (grades K-1), the required parts are the official pin, which costs $2, and a set of these petals ($8.50).
Uniforms are optional, but kids do generally get them. Daisies can get this tunic ($16.50) or this vest ($18.50). OR, you can make your own, for about $0.50, which is what I did for my kid, in about three minutes. Let me know if you want the pattern!
For Brownies (grades 2-3), the only required part is the official pin, which costs $2.
Uniforms, again, are optional, but kids do usually have them. At the moment, we're planning for the girls to sew their own vests during our second meeting, so their uniforms will be free. Otherwise, brownies can get this sash ($7) or this vest ($19.50).
